Lori Coulter is the Co-Founder and CEO of Summersalt, the disruptive direct-to-consumer sustainable swimwear brand based in St. Louis. Prior to launching Summersalt, Lori spent 10+ years in swimwear design and manufacturing, and successfully launched one of the first mass-customization retail startups that incorporated body scanning and made-to-order manufacturing. Lori and her co-founder Reshma Chattaram Chamberlin launched Summersalt to change the conversation around swimwear and address a true market gap by creating designer swimwear without the designer price tag. Summersalt’s product is data-backed with 1.5 million measurements taken from 10,000 women’s body scans.
Summersalt has seen overwhelming success in the two years since its launch, with praise from outlets like CNN, Forbes, Vogue, Elle and many more. Lori’s unique experience in designing and manufacturing swimwear, as well has her commitment to sustainability and affordability allow Summersalt to set the standard for affordable and sustainable manufacturing. To date, Summersalt has raised $8.7M from top tier venture capital firms including Founders Fund, Revolution’s Rise of the Rest Seed Fund, Dundee Venture Capital, Lewis and Clark Ventures, Cultivation Capital and more.
